Bioagricoop is developing the third and last year of DegustoBio project which is a project of promotion of European organic, PDO, PGI and typical products in China. The project is co-financed by the European Commission and Italian Government. Any European organic food producer or processor can join the project. The activities of the third year include: 2 Exhibitions (Biofach and FHC), 4 tasting activities (in shopping malls or important hotels), magazine and radio advertisements.

The first event of the project was a Cocktail Party, that took place in Shanghai on 27 September 2007. Local staff, properly qualified and trained, has promoted the products of participating operators; together with the promotion, a free tasting of the products has taken place. In this way all experts invited to the event have had the change to try the italian specialities. This event has represented the first step to set up important commercial relationships between Italian/European operators and Chinese operators.

The second event was Ocex, Organic China Expo 2007, in Beijing from 22 to 24 November. Ocex is one of the main exhibitions concerning organic products in China and it has, among its main objetcs: to construct a transaction platform of Organic Food and Natural Food; to guide the consumption concepts of Organic Food and Natural Food; to promote the development of Organic Food and Natural Food industries.

ORGANICITY stand has been both an important window for participating operators and a tasting chance to try the organic products for Chinese operators.

Furthermore Bioagricoop has attende an important Convention on Chinese Internal Market, its strenghts and its weaknesses: Chinese internal market is growing and also the attention to organic products is increasing.

During the event, Bioagricert has carried out an inspection on Chinese procedures for import in order to supply any necessary information and/or help to European operators.

The promotion of the project DegustoBio_Organicity is developing also through the specific web site: www.organicity.eu, and publications on important magazines of the sector. The last article was published on number 494 of China Food.
